Texas hold’em and slot machines are the main tourist draw of Macau, but during the summer months, from May to September, the ice World exhibition gives another reason to visit the Chinese territory and offers a brief respite from the heat. Now into its second year, the ice World 2012 is held at CotaExpo Hall F at The Venetian Macao.

The exhibition, the largest of its kind in Asia, showcases ice sculptures designed and crafted by the Harbin Ice Festival. A total of 10,000 ice blocks were used to carve the sculptures which include famous landmarks in Asia, a Magic Maze, and a Fairytale Forest. The 18,000 square foot hall is divided into 10 thematic zone and is kept at a chilly minus eight degrees Celsius.

Tiger Airways flies from Singapore Changi Airport to Macau International Airport, while Air Asia caters flights from Kuala Lumpur.

The Venetian Macao-Resort-Hotel pays homepage to the canals and architecture of Venice Italy with stunning replicas of the city. The rooms are luxuriously appointed suites that start fro ma generous 755 square feet (from US$300).
